I started designing original knitting patterns when I worked at my local yarn store.  During my time there, I noticed that a lot of knitters were scared to try new techniques or stitches.  Lace, cables, linen stitch, decorative bind-off, you name it.  I got kind of sad seeing that.  These people would fall in love with a sample piece, but without even looking at the pattern would claim that they aren't "good enough to knit that."

As I started drafting more patterns, I started focusing on making them accessible to all knitters.  I would try and stick with easy stitches while I added in new techniques that the knitter could learn as they're knitting the pattern.  That's worked out well so far, and I love seeing people realize that YES! They CAN do this!
